Description
Stage6 Torque Control MK2
The Torque Control MK2 is the improved version of the very successful Stage6 Torque Control clutch, with reinforced back plate, larger linings and slightly heavier clutch shoes.
Adjusting the Stage6 Torque COntrol clutch
The advantage of this clutch is that the springs can be adjusted and replaced without having to dismantle the entire unit.
The springs are held in place by screws, which you can simply tighten or loosen through the pre-formed holes in the Stage6 R/T clutch bell. If the clutch is fitted with a different clutch bell, you will need to remove the bell, but the actual clutch does not need to be removed from the rear pulley. Each spring can be precisely adjusted using the scale on the adjusting screws for infinitely variable spring preload.
Additional clutch weights Stage6 Torque COntrol
The Stage6 Torque Control MK2 clutch allows adding weights to influence not only the speed in which the clutch engages speed but also the aggressiveness of the clutch engagement process. For racing scooters, a smooth clutch engagement is more important in order to be able to accelerate optimally at an angle, whereas for fun scooters, a more aggressive engagement is required to enable wheelies. Both options are possible with Torque Control. The heavier the weights and the further out they are placed, the more aggressively the clutch will engage.
The Stage6 Torque Control MK2 clutch provides spectacular grip and fantastic acceleration.
Clutch springs Stage6 Torque COntrol
The choice of clutch spring depends on the cylinder and setup. We recommend white springs for entry level tuning cylinders, orange springs for racing cylinders and separately available red springs for high-end cylinders. For very heavily tuned engines, there is also a weight set to further increase the weight of the clutch shoes.
Which scooters are compatible with the Stage6 clutch?
The Stage6 clutch fits scooters with Piaggio engines (Zip), Minarelli horizontal (Yamaha Aerox / Malaguti), Minarelli vertical (Yamaha BW's), Peugeot horizontal (Ludix), Peugeot vertical (Speedfight), 2-stroke Chinese scooters (with 107mm bell), etc.
The Torque Control clutch is not intended exclusively for racing, but can also be used as an OEM quality replacement for the standard clutch thanks to its versatile adjustment options.

Scooter clutch
The clutch is essential for the smooth operation of the scooter's automatic CVT. It ensures that the engine power is transmitted to the rear wheel in a continuous and controlled manner.
How Does a scooter clutch work?
The clutch and clutch bell of the centrifugal clutch on scooters form a single unit. The clutch bell is attached to the input shaft of the engine. When the engine reaches a certain speed, the clutch shoes with linings are pulled outward by centrifugal force. Clutch and bell come into contact, they engage so power can be transmitted from the engine to the rear wheel.
How to adjust a Scooter clutch?
Scooters are centrifugal clutches, with increasing RPMs the centrifugal force leads to clutch engagement. The clutch springs play an important role in this process as they affect the engine speed at which the clutch engages, i.e. makes contact with the bell.
The clutch engages at a lower engine speed with soft springs, while hard springs delay clutch engagement. It is important to find the optimum compromise in terms of setup and intended use.
More precise settings can be done with an adjustable clutch, where the tension of the clutch springs can be adjusted.
We carry a wide range of special tools for hassle-free assembly and disassembly of clutch and transmission parts.
