Piaggio NRG 50 - General information
The first Piaggio NRG was initially only a minor modification of the Piaggio TPH: It had a new front, large wheels and was liquid-cooled. Otherwise, it was identical to the TPH. The NRG mc² was given a new rear, and the liquid-cooled version from 1998 also had disc brake on the rear wheel. The front was also altered a little. It was made slightly wider and had small lenses above the headlights. Because of the wider front, the inner fairing was wider as well. The NRG Extreme later also featured the Hyper 2 engine with higher performance, which complied with the new emission standards. It also got a new frame and a larger tank were also used. On the NRG Power, only the exterior design was changed. Apart from minor details such as the digital dashboard, the technology remained unchanged. It also received a new frame, which was almost identical to that of the Gilera Runner; the Runner has a strut in the center under the fairing
