Description

Silicone Radiator hose

Hose for the cooling system specially developed for scooters and motorcycles. The silicone hose is one meter long and has two angles, a 45° and a 90° angle. The inner diameter is 18 mm. The cooling hose can be adapted and cut to fit many different two-wheeler models.

Advantages of silicone cooling hoses:

  • Silicone hoses are resistant and durable
  • Extremely heat-resistant and can also be used in extreme operating conditions
  • They are much more flexible and easier to install than rubber hoses
  • They are easy to cut to size
  • Available in different colors, here in grey.

Note: When replacing a coolant hose, you should bleed the cooling system to eliminate the risk of overheating. It is also recommended to replace the coolant.

The coolant hose or radiator hose transports the coolant between the radiator, engine and other components of the cooling system.

There are two main types of coolant hoses: universal radiator hoses and preformed, vehicle-specific radiator hoses. These two types also differ in terms of materials.

  • Rubber hoses are the most common; they are inexpensive but need to be replaced more often.
  • Silicone hoses are more durable, flexible, heat resistant, and often come in a variety of colors.
  • Metal hoses are the most durable, can withstand higher temperatures and have better heat dissipation.

How to Change a radiator hose

Is coolant leaking? Is the engine overheating? Is the hose becoming porous? Then it may be time to change the radiator hose. Here is a simple guide to changing the radiator hose.

  1. Always replace the hose when the engine is cold.
  2. Find the defective hose.
  3. Remove the radiator hose clamps.
  4. Drain the coolant.
  5. Remove the old hose.
  6. Install the new hose.
  7. Tighten the clamps.
  8. Fill with coolant.
  9. Bleed the system and check for leaks.
