Rieju MRT 50: General info
The Spanish manufacturer Rieju has put a lot of effort into the development of their enduro motorcycles, delivering powerful models even in the 50cc class. The MRT 50 SM is offered in two versions: the "classic" MRT 50 and the MRT 50 Pro with upgraded equipment.
The Rieju MRT features an Enduro-style, relatively long frame with a suspension with ample travel to ensure sufficient stability even in more demanding conditions. While the frame has remained unchanged for many years, the fairing underwent a complete redesign in 2022, with Rieju taking cues from the big "hard enduro" MR 250 and MR 300 models.
To distinguish the two MRT 50 versions, you only have to look at the suspension:
- Basic version: classic fork, shock absorber without external reservoir
- PRO version: upside-down fork, shock absorber with external reservoir, plus Polisport hand protectors.
These differences, although not exhaustive, are the most prominent and easily identifiable ones.
The motorbike has been in production since 2009 and has undergone various evolutions over time. While there may be slight variations in specifications, the core features have remained largely unchanged since its inception.
Rieju MRT 50: Chassis
The Rieju MRT has a chassis that resembles large-displacement "real" motorcycles, offering high stability and good handling both on and off-road. These are the features of the high-performance chassis (data in the following order: basic version / Pro version):

As for the engine, Rieju relies on the proven Minarelli AM6 engine, known for its reliability and versatility.

Rieju MRT: Maintenance
The user manual of the Rieju MRT provides the recommended maintenance intervals. We skip the inspection-only part and focus on parts that require replacement. So always keep an eye on the main components depending on operating time and / or mileage. Here are the recommendations for standard setups:
- Air filter: every 5000 km
- Gear oil: every 5000 km
- Chain kit: every 5000 km
- Clutch disc: every 5000 km
- Spark plug: every 5000 km
- Piston: every 10000 km (including decalcification of cylinder head and exhaust)
Depending on the intensity of use, we recommend that you regularly check the chain tension, the condition of the air filter as well as brake pads and much more. Always remember that all major components of your moped must be in working order and in good condition at all times to ensure safety and maximum performance.
Rieju MRT 50 2T: Original or Tuning
The original performance of the Rieju MRT 50 is limited from the factory, you can maintain this performance through regular maintenance or upgrade the little motorbike into a racing machine.
For the well known Minarelli AM6 engine we carry cylinders from original to sport to high-end racing, also reinforced crankshafts, ignitions, exhausts and even special gearboxes and many other tuning parts.
