Advantages of V-Force 3
The V-Force reed valve was developed in close cooperation with American manufacturer Moto Tassinari, known for high-performance reed valves for motocross. The reed valve has 8 fins, hence the name "V-Force". The flow- and passage-optimized and patented design of the double-V valve (8 petals) results in significantly better filling of the crankcase by almost doubling the intake cross-section or petal surface.
VForce3 compatibility
The V-Force reed blocks are manufactured specifically for each motorcycle model and are installed in place of the original without any modification.
This version for Kawasaki KX85 can also be installed in 50cc engines with various adaptations:
- Minarelli horizontal: Slightly mill off the engine housing
- AM6 / Derbi: Place spacers under the reed valve and enlarge the mounting holes
Note: The reed valve has a stuffer for carburetors with a diameter of 28 to 34 mm. You can therefore equip your Kawasaki KX 85 with a PWK carburetor larger than 28 mm (28 mm is the original size).

How does a reed valve work?
The reed valve is usually V-shaped and is equpped with two blades. When the reed valve is opened, mixture will flow; when the reed valve is closed, the flow is significantly reduced. The flow is controlled by the opening of the carburetor slide, which controls the amount of mixture and affects RPM.
What kind of reed valve?
The type and shape of the reed valve can affect engine performance. Common types include the V-Force reed valve in a W-shape with 4 reed petals, and oversize versions with more volume than the original reed valves.
Adjusting the reed valve
You can improve engine output by using petals in different thicknesses, or by using a stuffer or a reed valve spacer. You can influence the mixture flow, which can affect the overall performance of the engine.
Note: When installing also change the intake gasket!
