Kawasaki KX 80 - History
The Kawasaki KX 80 is the predecessor of the KX 85. Before 2000, motocross motorcycles were not allowed to have a displacement of more than 85 cc, so all manufacturers offered motorcycles with 80 cc.
The KX 80 came onto the market in 1979 and was quickly upgraded by incorporating the technical advances made for the 125 cc and 250 cc models. It quickly became one of the most popular models, and more and more green Kawasakis were seen on the starting grids.
The engine was initially air-cooled, then water-cooled from 1983. in 1986 there was a new chassis and improved suspension. in 1988, changes were made to the design, before the KX 80 was completely revised in 1991 and received two disc brakes and an upside-down fork for the large version. It was then rebuilt in 1998 and increased by 2 cc to 82 cc.
This compact motocross bike is available in two versions, with small or large wheels, and is suitable for kids and teenagers between approx. 1.30 m and 1.65 m tall.
It is not approved for use on public roads, but is designed for recreational and competitive use on motocross tracks and trails.
