Gearshift pedal
The gear shift lever is actually a gearshift pedal, i.e. a foot lever. It is usually located on the left side of the vehicle and is within reach of the rider's foot. The rider can use the gearshift lever to shift into the various gears.
How does a gearshift lever work?
Motorcycle gear shift pedals usually follow the shift pattern "1-N-2-3-4-5-6", "N" stands for neutral and the numbers indicate the different gears. To shift into first gear, the shift pedal must be pressed down; for all other gears, the shift lever is lifted with the tip of the foot. The shift lever is used together with the clutch lever, which must be disengaged to shift gears.
Changing the gear shift lever
The angle of the gear switch pedal can be adjusted to suit body size and riding style. To do this, unscrew the pedal and reposition it on the axle.
In addition, you can do a little customizing by mounting coloured pedals. Gearshifts are available in various designs and colors, sometimes the desings match the brake pedal.
