Description
Primary gears Stage6 14/42
Primary transmission Stage6, 14/42 (3.00), Minarelli, for 14 teeth on original intermediate shaft, with longer transmission, pre-pressed.
The gears fits engines with 14 teeth on the original intermediate shaft, please count!
- Number of teeth: 14/42
- Gear ratio: 1:3.00
Why should you extend the transmission gearing?
To extend the final drive ratio you need a longer transmission. If the engine has enough power to pull the longer gear ratio, top speed will increase. Original cylinders do not have the necessary power to pull an extended transmission, so they can only be used in conjunction with tuning cylinders. In contrast to conventional gears, the Stage6 gears are already pre-pressed. Take the old gears, install the Stage6 gears - done!
Info: To calculate how many percent longer the gearing is, you need the gear ratios of both transmissions (standard gearbox and tuning gearbox). If you now divide the transmission ratio of the tuning gearbox by that of the original gearbox, subtract the value 1 and multiply the total by -100, you get the difference in percent.
Example: ((2.56 : 3.07)-1) x (-100) = 16.62 %
Note: The smaller the value of the transmission ratio, the longer the transmission gearing!!!
Scooter gearbox
The transmission of scooters and some mopeds is located in a case behind the clutch and torque driver and has the function of reducing rpm and ultimately driving the wheel axle.
The transmission of a scooter has a direct influence on top speed. If the engine develops enough power and torque at low rpm, you can choose a longer gear ratio to achieve a higher top speed without any noticeable loss in acceleration.
Please note: if you don't have a press, better choose pre-assembled gears!
