Racing cylinder for Peugeot 103 mopeds
STAGE6 has put all its know-how into this cylinder to set new standards in terms of performance and durability - the racing cylinder for Peugeot 103.
State-of-the-art technology for vintage mopeds
In keeping with the history of the Peugeot 103, most of the products on the market today are "old" products that were developed and released decades ago and which also deliver a performance commensurate with their time. STAGE6 has spared no effort or expense to bring a new product onto the market for vintage moped fans that is state of the art and delivers the performance possible today.
Design and performance Stage6 racing cylinder for Peugeot mopeds
Elaborately developed, sophisticated transfer ports optimize cylinder filling in every RPM range. The three-piece exhaust offers a large exhaust area without putting strain on the piston rings and thus on durability.
The high-quality ultra-light piston specially developed for this cylinder with a complete weight of just 88 grams allows for maximum power output and for the engine to rev up with ease.
The result is a racing cylinder of the latest generation, with which more than 12 hp is possible without much effort. A new benchmark in the field of plug & play cylinder kits for Peugeot 103!
Contents and accessories Stage6 cylinder Peugeot 103
As is usual with Peugeot 103 mopeds, the cylinder is supplied without cylinder head. In addition to the original cylinder head, all other cylinder heads on the market can also be used.
The Stage6 cylinder head specially developed for Peugeot 103 with adapted combustion chamber geometry and a squish surface contour that follows the radius of the piston crown is available separately.
To achieve an output of 12 hp, we recommend using the Stage6 Peugeot 103 crankshaft, the Stage6 PVL 103 ignition, the MotoForce Racing crankcase and a carburetor with a diameter of at least 19 mm.
Assembly tips for Stage6 cylinder for Peugeot 103
Before you install the Stage6 cylinder, you should thoroughly clean the engine, check the condition of all parts and use a new spark plug and a new small end bearing. The carburetor settings should be adjusted. The squish clearance should be greater than or equal to 1 mm. You should run in the engine for at least 300 km with a 3% mixture to ensure robustness and durability.

How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped
The cylinder or cylinder kit is the heart of the engine on scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. It consists of a cylinder, a piston with piston ring(s), a cylinder head and gaskets needed for installation.
The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.
Tuning Level: Racing
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
Racing products are designed for a more extreme uses and are developed primarily for racing. Whether you stay at 50cc or increase the displacement, the corresponding Racing parts produce much higher performance than the original parts in order to achieve maximum power.
Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
