Description
Cylinder spacer
Cylinder spacers should only be used by experienced tuners who have enough know-how to understand the complex workings of an engine and implement the corresponding measures.
What is the benefit of a cylinder spacer?
A cylinder spacer may be necessary if you are using a long-stroke crankshaft, as the piston rises higher in the cylinder to increase displacement.
With a 2-stroke engine, however, you cannot simply raise the cylinder. Raising the cylinder will also increase port timingd, which will completely change engine behavior; it can also result in a significant loss of power at low engine speeds.
If you want to use a spacer, make sure that the crankshaft, connecting rod and cylinder are designed for it or are compatible.
Note: Cylinder spacers vary from engine to engine. Their thickness must be matched to the crankshaft and cylinder. Please also remember to order cylinder studs in the correct length.
