HONDA CRF 250 - HISTORY
The emergence of 4-stroke motocross machines at the end of the 90s was originally driven mainly by Yamaha; Honda had to react and started to develop powerful competitive 4-stroke motocross bikes. After the CRF 450 in 2002, the CRF 250 was launched in 2004. The 250 CRF quickly became queen of its class, not least because of its powerful and smooth-running engine and the aluminum perimeter frame, which offers exceptionally good handling. Incidentally, maneuverability has always been the great advantage of Honda chassis in motocross racing.
There have been various important upgrades and developments, with the chassis being completely revised in 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022. While the CRF 250 was equipped with a single-camshaft engine for a long time, Honda made a major change in 2018 and equipped the CRF with a completely new engine with two camshafts, whose performance far exceeded that of the previous model. The engine was reworked again in 2022 to address weaknesses at low revs, quickly becoming one of the most popular models in its class.
The Honda 250 CRF is a powerful motocross motorcycle that is suitable for both competition and recreational use. It is not approved for road use, but is designed for use on motocross race tracks / off-road.
