Alpinestars - Company History

Sante Mazzarolo was an Italian craftsman and specialist in leather work. The flower Edelweiss growing in the mountains, Stella Alpina in Italian, was the inspiration for the name of Alpinestars, founded in 1963.
The Italian was very interested in motocross, a fairly new motorsport. The athletic but also brutal sport fascinated him, and he quickly noticed its special requirements. He saw the opportunity and seized it - using his craftsmanship to develop a special boot for the sport.
The company, based in northern Italy, produced equipment and supplied local importers to get feedback from offroad riders. Very quickly, the revolutionary Alpinestars boot became a reference in the off-road scene; it was Roger De Coster who won the company its first world title in the 1970s.
The company quickly made a name for themselves due to their unrivalled creativity and innovation, reaching a new peak in the 1970s when they also participated in MotoGP with Kenny Roberts, who won his first world title in 1978, this time on asphalt.
The reputation of the company with the star grew, so much so that it expanded and set up shop in the USA in the 1980s.
The 1990s saw the introduction of more technical equipment from the brand, and even leather suits in 1999.
Following their success in the two-wheeled sector, Alpinestars also became a major name in car racing, supplying Formula 1 drivers with footwear before setting up their own car division in the 2000s.
In 2010, the company also began manufacturing mountain bike equipment, a discipline whose requirements are similar to those of MX racing.
Today, the Italian company is the market leader in motorsport equipment and employs nearly 500 people in its settlements in Italy, California, Tokyo and Bangkok.

Alpinestars - projects and motorsport

Alpinestars is about to remain the market leader in the original market for which the brand became known, namely motorcycle boots. Proof of this are the numerous titles achieved, for example, 2021:
Jeffrey Herlings in MXGP, Maxime Renaux in MX2, Cooper Webb in AMA Supercross 450, Colt Nichols in 250 East, Justin Cooper in 250 West, Dylan Ferrandis in AMA Motocross 450, Jett Lawrence in AMA 250, Fabio Quartararo in MotoGP, Pedro Acosta in Moto3 ... And that's just part of the hit list for 2021. The list of achievements of the Italian brand since their beginnings is truly impressive.
