Information on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to draw your attention the following obligations:
As the end user, you are legally under obligation to return used batteries. You can return old batteries, which we carry or have carried as new batteries in our shop, free of charge to our warehouse (shipping address). The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meaning:
The crossed-out dustbin symbol means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.
Pb = Battery contains more than 0,004 % by mass Lead
Cd = Battery contains more than 0,002 % by mass Cadmium
Hg = Battery contains more than 0,0005 % by mass Mercury.
Special requirements for starter batteries
Relating to the sale of vehicle batteries, for end consumers pursuant to § 10 BattG, we are obliged to charge a deposit of 7.50 Euros including VAT per battery, if you do not return an old battery at the time of purchasing the new battery. The deposit is not included in the selling price and is shown next to the final price on the item.
If you return an old vehicle battery which we carry or have carried as a new battery in our shop in accordance with § 9 BattG, we are legally under obligation to take these back free of cost and to reimburse the deposit amount.
As far as we have given a deposit sticker as per § 10 section 1 clause 3 BattG, the reimbursement of the deposit upon returning the old vehicle battery depends on the returning of the deposit sticker.
The place for returning the sticker is the address specified in the Legal Notice.
Returning the old battery via post is not allowed on account of the Gefahrgutverordnung (Dangerous Goods Ordinance).
Alternatively, old vehicle batteries can also be returned free of charge to material and recycling centres. The deposit charged by us is not reimbursed by the public-legal material and recycling centres. However, there, you have the option to get the return of the old vehicle battery acknowledged on the deposit sticker. You will receive the battery deposit back from us upon presenting the acknowledged deposit sticker.
Please pay attention to the above instructions

ELECTRIC / ELECTRONIC WASTE / ELEKTROG
In connection with the sale of electrical appliances, we as the seller are obliged to inform you of the following:
Notes on the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment
Disused electrical appliances contain valuable and sometimes rare raw materials, such as copper, aluminium, gold or neodymium. If these raw materials are recycled and recovered, natural resources are conserved. In addition, electrical appliances sometimes contain substances that are hazardous to health or the environment, such as mercury. These substances must not be released into the environment in an uncontrolled manner and are therefore disposed of properly by recycling. Electrical appliances must therefore be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste.
You can return old appliances after use at the designated return points (e.g. at municipal collection points or in shops) free of charge. Old appliances which are not larger than 25 centimetres in any external dimensions can be returned in quantities customary in households. In addition, when you buy a new electrical or electronic device, you can hand in or return to us free of charge an old device of the same type of equipment which essentially fulfils the same functions as the new device.
You can recognize old devices, which are to be collected separately from the unsorted municipal waste according to appendix 3 of the ElektroG, by the symbol of the crossed out dustbin:
Notes on data protection
Waste equipment to be disposed of may contain sensitive personal data (e.g. on a PC or smartphone), which must not fall into the hands of third parties. We expressly point out that end users of old equipment must themselves ensure that personal data is deleted from the old equipment to be disposed of.
