Triple clamp
The triple clamp, or tree clamp, is a part of scooter and motorcycle forks. It connects the fork legs and the frame, provides for the mobility of the steering and takes the fork tubes as well as the handlebar.
It is not a wear part, nevertheless the triple clamp can be damaged in an accident, or you want to replace the original with a tuning part to improve handling and performance.
Triple clamps for scooters and 50cc motorcycles
On scooters, the original triple clamp is often made of relatively heavy steel. Racing triple clamps are often made of lightweight aluminum, which improves the weight to performance ratio of the machine. The stiffness can also be changed to make the handling more precise.
Motocross triple clamp
On motocross motorcycles , the stock triple clamp is usually made of ligtweight, high performance aluminum from the start. However, it is possible to opt for a triple clamp with a different offset.
