Description
Premium throttle cable for Puch Mopeds from Schmitt
When producing their premium cables Schmitt go for the highest quality. The cables are handmade and therefore have an extremely precise fit.
The inner cables are made of special steel designed for bowden cables, they do not break as quickly as mass-produced cables that most of the time are made with more brittle stainless steel cores.
Schmitt cables are 100% faithful replicas of the original cables. They are made in the same design as was standard at the time the vehicles were manufactured. However, since such traditionally made inner cables tend to rust, they are lubricated with an Interflon high-performance grease to last a lifetime.

MVT Premium
The MVT Premium ignition is the mid-range model among the MVT ignitions - a very powerful internal rotor ignition that ensures improved RPM increase.
The biggest difference to the Digital Direct ignition is the CDI. With the Premium, the ignition timing is fixed, with the DD series it is variable. If you want to maximize the engine's power range, you should therefore opt for the Digital Direct internal rotor ignition.
Advantages of MVT Premium Ignition
- Internal rotor ignition at an unbeatable price
- With light
- Simple adjustments
- More direct revving up
- Optional derestriction to 45 km/h
Throttle cable for motorcycle, scooter, moped
The throttle cable is a Bowden cable; it consists of a flexible inner cable made of steel wire, which is protected by a protective sleeve. One end is attached to the throttle grip on the handlebar, while the other end is connected to the carburetor.
How does a Throttle cable work?
When you use the throttle grip, the inner cable moves inside the sleeve and transmits the movement to the carburetor slide or injector. This regulates the amount of fuel or air that enters the engine, controlling the speed and acceleration of the vehicle.
Some two-wheelers are equipped with an oil pump, which is also connected through the throttle cable by a splitter.
Changing the throttle cable
Changing the throttle cable is relatively easy, you only need a few tools. The steps are as follows:
- Dismount the throttle grip, fully releasing the cable tensioner and removing the cable clamp.
- Remove the fairing to access the cable.
- Disconnect the cable end and pull it off the throttle slide.
- Install the new cable using the same steps in reverse order. Remember to lubricate the cable.
- If the two-wheeler is equipped with a cable splitter, you can replace several or all of the cables.
