Function – EGT Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge

EGT stands for Exhaust Gas Temperature. The exhaust temp is measured and displayed in real time, making carb tuning much easier. A lean mixture runs hotter; a rich mixture keeps exhaust temps lower.

To get the best performance out of your engine, the rule of thumb is: the spark plug should show a light brown color. By reducing the main jet size, you make the mixture leaner, increase power output, and the spark plug turns whiter. But be careful—this can lead to engine seizures. As a guideline: jet the engine lean until you get around 650°C at full throttle on a straight stretch. Depending on materials, you can go higher, but there’s a risk of overheating and piston seizure. The integrated warning feature gives you a visual alert if temps get too high.
