Description

Transparent radiator hose

This transparent radiator hose allows for easy spotting of air bubbles in your cooling system. The hoses are reinforced with a rigid internal metal spiral. They also look really great, especially if you fill them with colored coolant!

Available in different diameters:

  • Diameter 10 x 16 mm: Mainly used as a hose for the expansion tank
  • Diameter 12 x 18 mm: Mainly used as a radiator hose on Piaggio / Gilera / Aprilia scooters
  • Diameter 16 x 22 mm: Mainly used as a radiator hose on Minarelli scooters
  • Diameter 20 x 27 mm: Mainly used as a radiator hose on Peugeot scooters

Of course, the water hoses can also be used on motorcycles, mopeds, maxi scooters and even cars, as long as the inner diameter fits.

Note: The hose is sold by the metre. If you order quantity "2", you will get a 2m long piece of hose.

Cooling water hose for scooter and moped

The coolant hose or radiator hose transports the coolant between the radiator, engine and other components of the cooling system.

different types of radiator hoses

There are two main types of coolant hoses: universal radiator hoses and preformed, vehicle-specific radiator hoses. These two types also differ in terms of materials.

  • Rubber hoses are the most common; they are inexpensive but need to be replaced more often.
  • Silicone hoses are more durable, flexible, heat resistant, and often come in a variety of colors.
  • Metal hoses are the most durable, can withstand higher temperatures and have better heat dissipation.

How to Change a radiator hose

Is coolant leaking? Is the engine overheating? Is the hose becoming porous? Then it may be time to change the radiator hose. Here is a simple guide to changing the radiator hose.

  1. Always replace the hose when the engine is cold.
  2. Find the defective hose.
  3. Remove the radiator hose clamps.
  4. Drain the coolant.
  5. Remove the old hose.
  6. Install the new hose.
  7. Tighten the clamps.
  8. Fill with coolant.
  9. Bleed the system and check for leaks.
