Piston clip 12mm
High quality replacement piston circlips for 12mm piston pins.
When installing a piston, make sure the clip groove in your piston is clean and the clips are seated properly. It is recommended to install them with the openings against the running direction of the piston and fix them with a small drop of threadlocker.
Piston circlips with a diameter of 12 mm are quite common, e.g. on Minarelli AM6 (Rieju, Beta, Sherco etc.), Derbi and Piaggio and Peugeot scooters.
Function of circlips
Circlips or retaining clips are small, C-shaped metal parts that hold components on an axle or shaft.
The clips are usually placed in a groove or notch in the axle or shaft to prevent the part from moving or popping out. Piston circlips secure the piston pin to the piston.
We recommend using circlip pliers or a piston clip installation tool to install the circlip.
