The piston with piston ring(s), piston pin and locking clips is the moving heart of the cylinder. Due to the constant up and down movement, the piston is subject to wear. At some point the tolerances are no longer correct, the piston ring no longer seals perfectly and the performance decreases, i.e. the piston must be replaced.

When to replace the piston?
