Description
Choke for motorcycle, scooter, moped
The choke plays a crucial role for cold starting motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. It can happen that the original choke no longer deactivates or is otherwise defective. In such cases, it must be replaced, and you can choose between two different types of choke:
Auto Choke
The auto choke is attached to the carburetor and automatically adjusts fuel flow based on engine temperature. When the engine is cold, the choke automatically increases fuel flow, and when the engine is warm, it decreases it again.
Manual choke
The manual choke is a device attached to the carburetor that is activated manually by the driver. The choke is operated by a lever or knob directly on the carburetor or by a choke cable on the handlebar. The choke is pulled when the engine is cold before starting and later pushed in / down when the engine is warm.
Please note that each carburetor has its own type of choke. There are also adapters that can be used to convert an automatic choke to a manual choke.
