Carburetor Main jets PWK and Polini CP
Main jet kit for carburetors type PWK and Polini CP. The box includes 10 jets, available in 3 different versions.
- Sizes 98 to 120 with the following jets: 98, 100, 102, 105, 108, 110, 112, 115, 118 and 120
- Sizes 122 to 145 with the following jets: 122, 125, 128, 130, 132, 135, 138, 140, 142 to 145
- Sizes 145 to 170 with the following jets: 145, 148, 150, 152, 155, 158, 160, 162, 165, 168 and 170
Indispensable for jetting your carburetor! Always start with a too-large jet, then decrease jet size until your engine is running fine.
What is The Job of a Carburetor Jet?
A carburetor jet is a small hole in the carburetor through which fuel is drawn in and mixed with air. The jet's hole diameter determines the amount of fuel that flows through the carburetor, and thus the amount of fuel that is eventually burned. There are normally two types of jet in the carburetor of motorcycles, scooters or mopeds:
Choosing the right carburetor jet
Choosing the right carburetor jet is critical to ensuring that the engine can run optimally.
- If the jet is too small, the engine will run too lean and may overheat.
- If the jet is too large, the engine will run too rich, resulting in excessive fuel consumption and lower performance.
The colour of the spark plug can be "read" to check the settings:
- White = too lean.
- Black = too rich.
- Brown = perfect.
It is important to choose the right jet for the type of carburetor you are using, as each carburetor has its own jet type.
