China-based scooters come with different frames and chassis, in most cases this involves different ignition barrels. This version comes with a 4-pin plug for the ignition lock barrel; the kits also includes 2 lock barrels, 1 for the seat and 1 for the luggage compartment. Ignition lock function
On a motorcycle or scooter, an ignition switch can have several functions. The most important one is, of course, opening and closing the circuit via the spark plug so the engine will run. In doing so, the ignition lock also activates the 12-volt voltage to power the speedometer, vehicle lights and other electrical instruments. In some cases, the lock is combined with a handlebar lock to protect against theft.
If you want to convert your motorcycle into a racer, remove certain functions and simplify the wiring harness, you can replace the ignition lock with a killswitch.
