Internal rotor ignition with light

We propose you here theMVT Digital Direct 10 internal rotorignition with light for the Peugeot Speedfight 3 and 4 engines.

What is MVT Digital Direct?

The MVT Digital Direct ignition ("MVT DD" for the friends) is an internal rotor and digital ignition, that is to say that the ignition advance is modified according to the engine speed to offer the maximum performance (thanks to the CDI box). It is mainly intended in combination with a Racing or Hyper Racing engine of 70 cc and more.

The strong point of this MVT DD ignition is that it is equipped with a 12 Volts - 55 Watts output. So you will be able to keep your lighting while benefiting from increased performance, especially in terms of range of use and engine responsiveness.

How to set and adjust the MVT DD ignition?

  • First of all, you will have to dismantle your original ignition and then carefully install your MVT Digital Direct ignition. Do not tighten the ignition stator and the ignition rotor until you have adjusted the timing.
  • For the timing, take a timing pin or an ignition comparator and perform the timing as indicated in the manual: mostly 0.4 mm before TDC for a stock stroke and 0.35 mm for long strokes.
  • You will then have to connect the ignition to your wiring harness in order to benefit from the lighting (see assembly instructions).

If you want even more performance, you can couple it with the MVT Eprom box to choose your ignition curve.

We recommend you to use a racing spark plug and a minimum carburetor of 19 mm.

Prerequisites

    • A timing pin to perform the ignition timing.
    • The presence of a charged 12 Volt battery is essential for the operation of the MVT ignition, if you do not have one, we recommend the 12V - 5Ah SLA4L-BS SLA battery.
Additional information:

Fits on Peugeot Scooters equipped with a Peugeot Horizontal engine (Ludix, Kisbee, Speedfight 3, Speedfight 4 ...etc.).

MVT Digital Direct

The MVT Digital Direct ignition is the brand's top model, with extreme performance, agile engine and optimum response at all engine speeds thanks to a lightweight internal rotor and CDI with variable ignition timing. Bonus: the ignition has a 12V output for lights / on-board electronics!

The DD internal rotor ignition has a digital CDI with variable ignition timing adjustment, i.e. the ignition timing adapts to the engine speed and is therefore ideally suited for tuned engines. In this way, you always get the best ratio between torque and maximum power, regardless of RPM.

 Inner Rotor Ignition

An internal rotor ignition is a racing ignition designed to increase performance. Inner rotor ignitions are designed for motorsports and competition, in rare cases they also provide power for vehicle lighting. (e.g. the MVT ignition).

Advantages of an internal rotor ignition

Inner rotor ignitions are the ultimate choice for the race track, they are however  not really suitable for street use.
The compact and lightweight internal rotor puts less weight on the crankshaft and allows for quick revving, very high engine speeds and an enormous power increase at high rpm.

Another advantage is that this type of ignition is less susceptible to moisture than standard ignitions.

Tip: You may want to consider a tuning ignition cover with additional holes / cutouts to improve ventilation.

Disadvantages of an internal rotor ignition

RPMs increase faster due to the lower mass, this will affect torque at low RPMs, though. Therefore, internal rotor ignitions are only worthwhile for racing, because on the racetrack you'll constantly stay at high engine speeds.

Attention sur Kisbee
Cet allumage est très performant, très reconnu en mecaboite. Mais pour kisbee et tout les moteurs Peugeot horizontaux cet allumage ne se monte malheureusement pas, ce dd est trop épais donc la turbine de refroidissement ne se monte pas, même en l’usinant ont ne peut pas rattraper l’épaisseur, très dommage pour un bon produit comme celui ci sans parler de la perte financière
