Description
Internal Rotor Ignition Malossi MHR Racing Pit Bike for Pit Bike, Dirt Bike and Minicross. High-performance ignition that combines state-of-the-art modern technologies with the long-term know-how and race experience Malossi acquired over many years. Malossi is addressing some long-running problems tuners had to deal with when trying to achieve maximum performance. Original ignitions (with external rotor) simply cannot provide the required and above all reliable ignition performance at speeds above 10,000 rpm, an internal rotor ignition system is the way to go.
For this high-end ignition Malossi has developed a special CDI designed for 4-stroke engines, which guarantees a stable performance up to 16,000 rpm.
Technical Information :
- CDI with variable ignition advance
- High voltage coil
- Constant discharge voltage from 30.000 Volt up to 20.000 rpm
- Internal rotor Ø 58 mm, dynamically balanced, low energy consumption
- Non-magnetic stainless steel flywheel Ø 94.5 mm
Suitable for:
LIFAN 110cc-125cc- 140cc-150cc (FY152FMH, FY152FHI, 1P55FMJ, 1P56FMJ)
Malossi MHR
The MHR series from Malossi is generally available in 3 categories for the most popular models:
The 3 model series differ in terms of performance and competitiveness. The MHR Team series includes the top-of-the-line models with outstanding performance for racing. The MHR Racing is in the middle, and the MHR Replica adopts the basic features of the higher versions, with the emphasis on reliability for everyday use rather than maximum performance for the race track.
Inner Rotor Ignition
An internal rotor ignition is a racing ignition designed to increase performance. Inner rotor ignitions are designed for motorsports and competition, in rare cases they also provide power for vehicle lighting. (e.g. the MVT ignition).
Advantages of an internal rotor ignition
Inner rotor ignitions are the ultimate choice for the race track, they are however not really suitable for street use.
The compact and lightweight internal rotor puts less weight on the crankshaft and allows for quick revving, very high engine speeds and an enormous power increase at high rpm.
Another advantage is that this type of ignition is less susceptible to moisture than standard ignitions.
Tip: You may want to consider a tuning ignition cover with additional holes / cutouts to improve ventilation.
Disadvantages of an internal rotor ignition
RPMs increase faster due to the lower mass, this will affect torque at low RPMs, though. Therefore, internal rotor ignitions are only worthwhile for racing, because on the racetrack you'll constantly stay at high engine speeds.
Installing and adjusting an internal rotor ignition
Installing an internal rotor ignition requires technical knowledge and careful adjustments to keep the engine running optimally and really optimize performance. We recommend our tutorial to learn how to install and adjust an internal rotor ignition.
