Schmitt Plus engine gasket set made of AFM37 sealing paper (aramid fiber-reinforced) with 1mm wide silicone sealing lip on both sides incl. Schmitt FKM seals suitable for Simson S51, S53, SR50, KR51/2 M500 engine. Made in Germany.
The engine gaskets, cylinder gaskets and oil seals are also available separately.
Precision fit gaskets with sealing lip
With these fuel and oil-resistant gaskets from Schmitt, tedious working with sealing compound on the workbench are a thing of the past. The sealing lips on both sides adapt precisely to the contours of the sealing surfaces when the engine halves are bolted together and reliably compensate for minor unevenness.
FKM shaft seals with twist
The seals with the designations RD, LD or WD are installed to match the direction of rotation of the crankshaft and offer optimum sealing, high speed resistance and exceptional durability. The integrated return swirl continuously ensures that lubricants are returned to the bearing or crankshaft. Due to their design, Schmitt oil seals with rotational direction ensure excellent sealing even when the crankshaft does not move. The FKM material used also offers outstanding resistance to fuels and lubricants.

what does a gasket do?
There are many different types of gaskets or gasket sets in an engine, e.g. cylinder gaskets, intake gaskets, oil seals, crankcase gaskets, exhaust gaskets, carburetor gaskets or engine gasket sets. They all have the same function: to prevent leakage between components.
When and why should you change an engine gasket?
When servicing your two-wheeler or noticing leaking fluids, be sure to follow this one important rule: Always replace an old gasket with a new gasket.
Damaged or worn gaskets can no longer do their job properly, the parts that have to be sealed are no longer adequately sealed, which can lead to serious follow-up damages.
Before you install a new gasket, you must thoroughly clean and degrease the sealing surface.
You can also use silicone sealant as an alternative to paper or metal gaskets in some cases. But beware, O-rings and oil seals cannot be replaced by sealant.
