Description
Cylinder kit Stage6 Racing MK2 70cc
Cylinder Stage6 Racing 70cc MK2, 12mm piston pin, China 2-stroke AC. The successor to the successful Stage6 Racing 70cc cylinder is called Stage6 Racing MKII 70cc and comes in a completely revised version with more power out of the box.
Improvements and technical details Stage6 Racing aluminium cylinder
The aluminum cylinder with high-strength hard chrome coating has been completely redesigned:
- Transfer port design: instead of 5, now 6 transfer ports, which significantly improve cylinder filling.
- Piston design: New domed piston crown and 0.8 mm ring, inspired by the R/T piston, for more power and better thermal resilience.
- Optimized cooling: Generous scavenging of the split exhaust, 5-cornered design with internal cooling fins, one-piece cylinder head with cooling channels.
- Port timings: 190°-130°.
The cylinder delivers 2-3 hp more than the MK1 and achieves 17-19 hp in the standard configuration. With appropriate reworking, over 20 hp is possible, making it one of the most powerful 70cc kits on the market.
To exploit the full potential of this cylinder, we recommend the use of a reinforced crankshaft, a minimum 21 mm carburetor and a racing exhaust system.
Scope of delivery Stage6 Racing cylinder kit
- Aluminum cylinder 47.6mm diameter
- 1-ring piston with 12mm piston pin
- One-piece cylinder head
- Gasket set
Notes on installation and maintenance
Before installation, the engine and components should be cleaned and the condition checked. Use a new spark plug and a new piston pin bearing.
Adjust the carburetor settings to prevent tightening. During the running-in phase of 300 km, we recommend a mixture of 1:33 to ensure robustness and longevity.
Caution:
- Original exhausts cannot be fitted to this cylinder.
- The temperature sensor including the thread must not be longer than 18 mm, otherwise it may bump into the cylinder head.
WITHOUT ROAD APPROVAL
How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped
The cylinder or cylinder kit is the heart of the engine on scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. It consists of a cylinder, a piston with piston ring(s), a cylinder head and gaskets needed for installation.
The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.
Tuning Level: Racing
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
Racing products are designed for a more extreme uses and are developed primarily for racing. Whether you stay at 50cc or increase the displacement, the corresponding Racing parts produce much higher performance than the original parts in order to achieve maximum power.
Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
