original design and high quality
This cylinder kit is a completely new development with a true-to-original look and a straight connection to the intake manifold. Unlike many replica cylinders, Schmitt has focused on delivering top-quality, modern manufacturing while preserving the classic look. For best performance, Schmitt recommends pairing this cylinder with an 85/10 moped carburetor.
- Original timing and port geometry: Delivers the same engine performance as the original part.
- Die-Cast Production: Provides a high-quality surface finish.
- 3mm cast iron bushing: Precisely manufactured for durability, can be rebuilt several times and has a very long product life.
- Splash-proof connection: Includes the original splash-proof connection with an O-ring seal.
High-performance piston
The piston included in the kit is made of a durable aluminum alloy with 18% silicon content and has the original profile. This provides maximum durability, exceptional emergency running properties, and optimal performance during the break-in phase. The piston is enhanced with two rings of different thicknesses for smooth operation, as found in original parts. A molybdenum disulfide coating further supports the piston’s glide properties during the initial break-in period.

How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped
The cylinder or cylinder kit is the heart of the engine on scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. It consists of a cylinder, a piston with piston ring(s), a cylinder head and gaskets needed for installation.
The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.
Tuning Level: Original
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
Under Original you will find parts whose performance and technical specifications are identical to those of the stock part.
Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
