Description
Polini racing cylinder 300 Vespa GTS
Polini offers a big bore aluminum cylinder for Vespa GTS 300, with 77mm bore for a displacement increase to 294cc (from originally 278cc).
Design Polini 300cc cylinder for Vespa GTS
In order to guarantee high reliability, Polini uses a special highly resistant Nicasil coating and a so-called HTR steel ring (High Turbulence Ring). This ring not only optimizes the squish effect, but also provides a larger contact surface for the cylinder head gasket. This ensures significantly increased reliability.
Polini has also designed a special piston with an extended piston crown for this cylinder kit. The aim is to resist the side thrust generated by the connecting rod and thus further increase reliability.
Installation and compatibility Polini 300 cylinder
This cylinder kit fits perfectly into the original crankcases without the need for any modifications. You can continue using the original cylinder head.
ATTENTION: It is necessary to install the appropriate CDI for Euro 3-4 and Euro 5 models from POLINI
- Euro 3 and Euro 4 models: CDI / ECU P171.0015
- Euro 5 models: CDI / ECU P171.0017
Pro tip: To get the best out of this kit, you should adjust the CVT weights. We also recommend the use of a sports CVT and a tuning exhaust to exploit the full potential of this cylinder.
How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped
The cylinder or cylinder kit is the heart of the engine on scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. It consists of a cylinder, a piston with piston ring(s), a cylinder head and gaskets needed for installation.
The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.
Tuning Level: Sport
We categorize our products into different performance levels Original, Sport, Racing and High End , so that our customers can choose the right parts for their setup. It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.
The products listed under Sport yield better performance than Original parts. They may have technical differences, such as the use of higher quality materials, a larger displacement or a performance-enhancing design. They are suitable for everyday use and have a long service life.
Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
