ATHENA 70cc Ø45mm Big Bore cylinder for ZüNDAPP FAMEL, SUPER TERM
Performance and durability for Zündapp 50cc
This unique ATHENA cylinder kit has been specially developed for ZÜNDAPP FAMEL, SUPER TERM 50 and other models. The cylinder is made of nikasil-coated aluminum and is supplied with a VERTEX 1-ring piston, which guarantees exceptional performance and robustness.

The cylinder offers an optimized layout, a high compression ratio and intake and exhaust ports that maximize engine performance. Despite its larger dimensions, the cylinder can be easily fitted with the original cylinder head.
The complete kit consists of cylinder, piston, gaskets (cylinder head not included, keep the original head).
To get the best out of this kit, we recommend a carburetor between 17.5 and 21 mm and a sports exhaust.

Attention! The head and base gaskets included in the kit are specially developed for ATHENA cylinders. If the kit is removed, the gaskets must be replaced with an ATHENA gasket set.

The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.

Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
