This high-quality ATHENA cylinder kit is the ideal solution for Zündapp models such as Mini Term, Standard and Famel 50. Manufactured from Nikasil-coated aluminum and equipped with a precision-manufactured vertex piston, this kit increases engine performance and ensures optimum compression and efficiency.
ATHENA 50cc cylinder kit - features at a glance
The aluminum cylinder with Nikasil coating ensures durability and effective heat dissipation.
The kit contains a Ø45mm aluminum cylinder, piston, gasket set and installation instructions. The cylinder head is not included, but the cylinder can easily be used with the original cylinder head. For optimum performance, we recommend a 17.5mm - 21 mm carburetor and a sports exhaust.

Attention! The cylinder head and base gaskets contained in the kit are intended exclusively for ATHENA kits. In the event of re-installation, they must be replaced by the Athena gasket set.

The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.

Aluminium cylinders
Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.
How to run in an aluminium cylinder?
Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.
Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.
