Cylinder Airsal Racing 50cc Derbi Euro 3 / 4 (D50B0)

Airsal Alu Racing 50cc cylinder kit, aluminum cylinder suitable for everyday use from the Spanish manufacturer Airsal, here as racing version "Tech Piston" with a high-quality piston from Vertex or Mahle.

The cylinder has a bridged exhaust and slightly higher port timings than the sports version. This gives it even more power in the upper rev range with a high-revving exhaust system. To get the best performance out of the cylinder, you should use at least a 17.5mm or even better a 21mm carburetor and a suitable sports exhaust such as Stage6 Streetrace.

  • 50cc aluminum cylinder, 5 transfer ports and split exhaust
  • 2-ring piston from Vertex or Mahle
  • High compression cylinder head
  • Gasket set

Note: 50cc bikes with Derbi Euro 4 engines use a slightly smaller temperature sensor (thread: M12 x 1.5) than the Euro 3 models (M14 x 1.5). To fit the smaller Euro 4 sensor to the cylinder head, you also need the MF96.91010 adapter.

How to Install a cylinder on a scooter, motorcycle or moped

The cylinder or cylinder kit is the heart of the engine on scooters, motorcycles and mopeds. It consists of a cylinder, a piston with piston ring(s), a cylinder head and gaskets needed for installation.

The service life of a cylinder depends on whether it has been fitted correctly.

Tuning Level: Racing

It is really important to combine parts that belong to the same tuning level, this is especially true for cylinders, crankshafts and exhausts.

Racing products are designed for a more extreme uses and are developed primarily for racing. Whether you stay at 50cc or increase the displacement, the corresponding Racing parts produce much higher performance than the original parts in order to achieve maximum power.

Aluminium cylinders

Aluminium cylinders are more powerful than cast iron cylinders, but require more regular maintenance and must be combined with different components such as a reinforced crankshaft and a larger carburetor.

How to run in an aluminium cylinder?

Aluminium cylinders should be run in for about 200 kilometers , and you should use a fully synthetic engine oil.

Note: To ensure optimum performance and reliability, it is advisable to measure the squish clearance. Just have a look at our tutorial How to adjust squish clearance.

Best Reliablity
Runs fine for at least 20k km. If you consider the "normal" Airsal Sport - reconsider and buy this kit. Picture is from Piston after ~25000km. You will never get this out of the "stock kit". Power could be more, but you can also port the cylinder to get a "xtreme" without 2 part cylinderhead.

Wider power band with giannelli exhaust compared to original cylinder. With 13/53 gearing top speed (with giannelli exhaust) 80kmh. Very good replacement cylinder. Could rev more, maybe some exhaust porting would do the trick. Maybe racing is a bit too much said about the cylinder.

Performance légèrement plus élevé que le cylindre d'origine, un peu plus de reprise mais l'allonge ne change en rien, sinon testé avec différente transmission. pot bidalot passage haut, carbu 17.5, clapet conti crx 4 lamelle, BAA non prépa, transmi 13x53 (90km/h compteur twingo ^^) et 14x53 (~95km/h)
