Description
CVT Restrictor
The CVT restriction is located on the variator sleeve in the center of the variator, which is pushed onto the end of the crankshaft.
This restrictor ring prevents the pulley from opening fully, which reduces the maximum speed, normally to 45 km/h (in some countries even to 25 km/h), in order to comply with the legal regulations for road-legal 50cc vehicles.
You can derestrict the CVT by removing the restriction ring to increase top speed. However, there are other restrictions on many scooters, e.g. on the exhaust or via the CDI, sometimes even both! We have everything you need to completely derestrict your two-wheeler.
After you have derestricted the CVT transmission, you should readjust the carburetor using new jets.
