Complete chain Kit
The chain set includes the main components of the chain drive, which are used to transmit the engine power to the rear wheel. Chain kits consist of the following parts: Front sprocket, rear sprocket and chain. You can buy these parts separately or as a complete chain set.
How can I tell that my chain set needs to be replaced?
There are several signs that may indicate that a chain kit needs to be replaced:
- Metallic rattling
- Worn sprocket teeth
- Loose chain that can no longer be properly adjusted
- Difficulty shifting gears or accelerating
- Signs of rust on the chain or sprockets
It is recommended to regularly check and maintain the condition of the chain kit and replace it if there are visible signs of wear.
gear ratio
The transmission ratio of the chain drive is the ratio between the front and rear sprocket. It is calculated as follows: Number of teeth of rear sprocket / Number of teeth of front sprocket. A low ratio increases speed, a high ratio increases acceleration.
Example: 15-tooth front sprocket and 53-tooth rear sprocket: 53/15 = 3.53 gear ratio
