Description
Stage6 R/T VHST Carburetor Slide 55, flat throttle slide for Stage& VHST carburetors (24mm / 26mm / 28mm).
Throttle slides in different sizes can, in addition to emulsion tube, needle and jets, be used for adjusting the carburetor and tune the engine. Slides control the amount of air that is added to the carburetor. Different sized cutaways add more or less air, and more air leads to leaner mixtures. This means that larger cutaways lead to leaner mixtures.
This is a slider size 55, suitable for VHST carburetors 24mm, 26mm and 28mm.
Throttle slide
The slide is an important part of the carburetor because it controls the amount of air (or mixture) that enters the engine.
When the throttle grip is turned, you pull the throttle cable, which in turn pulls on the throttle slide to raise it and open the passage.
The shape and thickness of the slide has no real effect on engine performance. However, a carburetor with a throttle slide will result in a livelier engine character at low rpm.
So when adjusting the carburetor, you should focus more on the jets and needles.
