Carburetor Slide 24mm/40° for Polini CP carburetors. Round slide with 24mm diameter and 40° cutaway. Altering the cutaway size on the throttle slide influences the pressure of airflow through the carburetor. A smaller cutaway will create lower pressure, thus a richer condition, a larger will lead to leaner mix. We carry top quality spare parts for many different carburetor models. Throttle slide
The slide is an important part of the carburetor because it controls the amount of air (or mixture) that enters the engine.
When the throttle grip is turned, you pull the throttle cable, which in turn pulls on the throttle slide to raise it and open the passage.
The shape and thickness of the slide has no real effect on engine performance. However, a carburetor with a throttle slide will result in a livelier engine character at low rpm.
So when adjusting the carburetor, you should focus more on the jets and needles.
