Description
SHIDO lithium-ion batteries have four 3.2 Volt LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) cells that are connected in series to achieve an OCV (open-circuit voltage) of 12.8 Volt, which is the perfect voltage for starting a motorcycle.
An electronic battery management system (BMS) distributes charge and discharge evenly among the four cells. In addition, an integrated battery tester shows the charge level (3 levels).
Due to their low internal resistance, SHIDO batteries generate a very high starting current even with limited power (Ampere). This allows for powerful and quick starts.
Another advantage: the batteries are almost 70% lighter than conventional batteries.
Features:
- higher starting power
- more than 1200 charge cycles
- almost 70% lighter
- very low self-discharge even after long non-use periods
- very low risk of explosion
- fast charging time due to the low internal resistance
- maintenance-free
- IP68 waterproof
- charge level indicator
- can be charged with all chargers with charging current not exceeding 15V
Unfortunately battery manufacturers use many different battery names / model numbers. For this reason we have sorted the batteries according to their dimensions (±2mm). This way you always get the correct battery, even if the manufacturers’ names / codes do not match yours. Batteries with the standard dimensions 115x70x105 mm can have, among others, the following manufacturer codes:
Yuasa YTX5L-BS, Fulbat FTX5L-BS, NHK YTX5L-BS, YTZ7S, RMS YTX5L-BS, Shido LTX5L-BS, LTZ7S...
Motorcycle and Scooter Batteries
12 Volt batteries are used in many types of vehicles, including motorcycles, scooters, quads, lawn mowers ... etc. They provide the energy needed to start the engine, vehicle lighting and electrical instruments.
The different types of batteries
There is a wide range of 12 volt batteries as well as 6 volt batteries for two-wheelers, these are the main types:
- The lead-acid battery is the most common battery type. The main advantage is the excellent value for money, the disadvantage is that lead-acid batteries require regular maintenance and the battery itself must be filled with acid.
- Maintenance free batteries are ready to use, sealed and leak proof, no maintenance is required. There are different types such as gel batteries and AGM batteries (VRLA and SLA). ... etc.
- Lithium batteries are characterized by low weight, long life and high performance, and are also maintenance free. The disadvantage of lithium-ion batteries is their relatively high price.
which battery is suitable for my vehicle?
To choose the right battery for your vehicle, you need to consider voltage (V) and capacity (Ah), e.g. a 12V - 5AH battery. For scooters and motorcycles, it is also important to consider the battery dimensions so that it will fit in your battery compartment. It is best to refer to the manufacturer's specifications.
Note: Remember to always have a battery charger on hand to charge the battery in case it is dead.
Labelling of hazardous substances according to CLP regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 for starter batteries with battery acid pack:
Contains: Sulphuric acid 38%
Hazard pictogram:
GHS05
Signal word: DANGER
Hazard statement: H314 Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.
Safety instructions:
P264 Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
P280 Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection.
P301 / P330 / P331 If swallowed: Rinse mouth. Do not induce vomiting.
P303 / P361 / P353 If on skin (or hair): Remove/take off all contaminated clothing immediately, rinse skin with water/shower.
P305 / P351 / P338 If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present. Conintue rinsing.
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 mass percent of mercury, more than 0.002 mass percent of cadmium or more than 0.004 mass percent of lead, the chemical name of the pollutant is shown under the dustbin symbol - "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
For our customers in Germany: According to § 10 BattG we are obliged to charge a deposit of 7.50 EUR on starter batteries. The deposit fee is listed separately during the ordering process.
