Dirty air filters lead to reduced engine power and poor fuel economy. We recommend changing your air filter inserts every 2000km (approximately).
Malossi "Red Sponge" air filter foam with two layers of foam. The layers differ in porosity (45 vs. 60 pores per inch), together they provide maximum filtration performance. Air flow is excellent as well, and carburation and overall performance is improved.

Malossi Red Sponge
The Malossi Red Sponge air filters are air filter foam inserts for the original air filter boxes of 50cc scooters and motorcycles. They have the shape of the original foam filter, but are made of a higher quality foam with high filter performance and increased air flow.
To improve the air intake, you can also use double layer foam or even a bell mouth.

A dirty air filter impairs engine performance, increases fuel consumption and can even cause your motorcycle, scooter or moped not to start at all.
Therefore, it is important to clean the air filter regularly with air filter cleaner or simply replace the filter so that the engine gets enough air again to run optimally.
How to replace the air filter foam insert
- Remove the cover of the air filter box
- Remove the filter, clean the air box thoroughly
- Clean or replace the air filter element if it is too worn out
